Shahkot: The most wanted proclaimed offender in the city was killed during an alleged police encounter near Chak 82.
Sources said that three armed dacoits were fleeing after snatching the motorcycle of a ci
tizen near Kot Nijabat on Dalah Jarmia Road when they were chased by the police. On spotting the police personnel, the dacoits opened fire. In retaliation, police killed one dacoit.
The dead dacoit has been identified as proclaimed offender Siddique alias Baghoo, hailing fro
m Faisalabad. The dacoit was killed on the spot while his two accomplices managed
to escape after leaving the motorcycle.
The deceased w
as wanted by police in different districts in 10 different cases.
Police have handed over the dead body to his relatives after medico-legal formalities.
